LES CHARPENTIERS DES ALPES ET PROVENCE are the result of the experience and know-how of 5 generations of carpenters born in the Alps.
Robert Domeny “Compagnon charpentier du Devoir” decided to settle his own firm in Provence (south east of France) more exactly in Vitrolles next to marseille. He called it LES CHARPENTIERS DES ALPES ET PROVENCE and started making glue laminated wood.
He thought this new technology would enable him to build new types of carpentry using longer beams and different shapes to make modern building.
He was one of the first in France to make glue laminated wood. Nowadays, thanks to his 43 years’ experience we carry on making more and more complex woodwork.
Frederic Domeny a wood engineer with a degree from “LE Centre des Hautes Etudes de la Construction bois de Paris” joined the company and added new technological and computerized skills to the know-how of traditional carpenters.
